Calf Support for Pickleball

Calf sleeves give your lower legs graduated compression from ankle to knee, which many players find keeps their calves feeling fresher over long sessions. Wear a sleeve with your own socks, or an over-the-calf compression sock to cover foot and calf in one. A sudden sharp pain in the calf mid-rally needs a physio, not a sleeve.

How to choose

  • You want calf support and like your own socks: Lines-Up sleeves.
  • You want one thing to put on: Color Storm socks.
  • You want something for the drive home after a tournament: Double Layer Zip socks. The zip also makes them easier to get on.

Sizing

Measure around the widest part of your calf. The sleeve and sock charts are on each product page in centimetres and inches.

What a sleeve won't do

It won't heal a torn calf muscle, and it isn't a reason to play through one.

When to see a physio

A sudden sharp pain in the calf, often described as feeling like being hit by a ball, while you push off. Stop playing that day. Also see someone for calf swelling, or pain that doesn't settle after a week.

Questions

Not as a treatment. Some players like the supported feel once a physio has cleared them to play again. A fresh strain needs rest and an assessment first.
